Bourbon

Bourbon whiskey is ultimately named after the French dynasty. It's conventionally said to get its name from Bourbon County, Kentucky. But according to an article on the website of the Smithsonian Institution (cited by Wikipedia), Michael Veach (associate curator of special collections at the Filson Historical Society in Louisville, Kentucky, and a former archivist for United Distilleries in the heart of Kentucky Bourbon Country) believes that the name comes from Bourbon Street in New Orleans, where the whiskey was first sold. Bourbon Street is famous for its drinking establishments and other "entertainment" venues.
